Welcome to 6th grade TLC! The core subjects for TLC sixth grade are Science and Social Studies. This year we will be flying through 5000 years of history as we explore and analyze literary works aligned with our English curriculum. So, hold onto your hat and definitely embrace Edmodo and the wonder-working, life-saving agenda book. We will begin our journey with a study of early hunter-gatherer societies and scientific process skills. The following weeks will take us through many ancient civilizations all over the world and the simple machines they used to improve their lives. We will experience the fall of the Roman Empire and the resulting European Middle Ages. Our scientists will dissect invertebrates and forecast the weather. The year will end in the Renaissance and the Age of Exploration. This age of Enlightenment produced many inventors who knew about physics principles and environmental issues. As you can see, we will flash through 5000 years of history (Ta-DA…this is quite a feat in one year.)
